PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Al Bocachio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Hinds (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hinds has chosen Back up by 12 Stones as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jeff Hinds!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hinds misses with a two punch combination.
Bocachio shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hinds pinned against the cage. Hinds gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Hinds shoots in for a double leg but Bocachio sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Hinds counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bocachio won't be happy with that.
Bocachio tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hinds wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Bocachio on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bocachio tries to get out of the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hinds jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Bocachio manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Hinds goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bocachio has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Hinds but great work by Bocachio.

Hinds seems to be looking for submissions.
Hinds thows a huge punch but Bocachio dodges it nicely.

Hinds is looking for a kimura but Bocachio is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Hinds to get the leverage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bocachio shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hinds as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Al Bocachio. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Bocachio throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hinds's waist but Hinds gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bocachio off to one side.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hinds is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bocachio pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bocachio will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Hinds closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Al Bocachio.
Well Bocachio has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
