Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawasati moves in looking to clinch but Gunma pushes him off.
Kawasati shoots in but Gunma avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Gunma closes the distance and clinches.
Gunma on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Gunma tries for a takedown but Kawasati manages to get underhooks.
Gunma tries to score a body lock takedown but Kawasati shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kawasati jumps guard.
Kawasati working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gunma doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Gunma manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Kawasati looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Gunma is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gunma wants to pass the guard but Kawasati is keeping the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Gunma circles away from the clinch attempt
and Gunma counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kawasati's guard now.

Gunma tries to move into full mount but can't pass Kawasati's legs.

and Kawasati counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Yuuto Kawasati has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takumi Gunma.
Gunma is pulling down on Kawasati's head. It's preventing any offense from Kawasati, at least for the moment.
Kawasati tries to free his leg and advance position but Gunma is retaining full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Gunma stands and throws Kawasati's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Kawasati tries to improve position but can't.
Gunma is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Kawasati knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Gunma is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kawasati is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Kawasati's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Gunma shoots and misses
and Kawasati holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gunma blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Kawasati misses with a knee to the head.
Kawasati tries a knee to the head but Gunma blocks it.
Kawasati pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the ropes.

Gunma blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Kawasati manages to pull guard.
Gunma stands and throws Kawasati's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Gunma postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Gunma is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Kawasati is trying to escape and Gunma transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Kawasati is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gunma! Very nice indeed!
