Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pultti Pyssy (ranked 2797 p4p, 2308 weight class) and Khamzat Sonnen (ranked 316 p4p, 270 weight class). Sonnen has chosen ТИМУР МУЦУРАЕВ - В ТУ НОЧЬ КОГДА РОЖДАЛИС as his entrance music. The key to victory for Pultti Pyssy has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pultti Pyssy! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Khamzat Sonnen! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pyssy throws out a loose jab but Sonnen uses good head movement to avoid it. Pyssy definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sonnen. Sonnen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Sonnen throws a leg kick letting Pyssy counter with a right hand. Pyssy's corner calls for a 1-2. Pyssy obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Sonnen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Pyssy gets caught flat footed, as Sonnen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Sonnen throwing strikes but missing. Sonnen passes into half guard. Sonnen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Sonnen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pyssy is just riding it out for now. Sonnen eventually gives up the hold.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sonnen wants to work for an arm triangle but Pyssy is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pyssy is trying is best to control the position here. Pyssy has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sonnen is working away from the top position though. Sonnen wants to free his trapped foot but Pyssy is holding on for dear life with his legs. Sonnen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pyssy sees it coming and defends easily. Pyssy is looking for a sweep. Sonnen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Sonnen seems to be working for a kimura but Pyssy defends the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Pyssy trying to hold on to Sonnen's head to control him but Sonnen postures up.
Pyssy wants to get back to full guard. Sonnen thows a huge punch but Pyssy dodges it nicely.
Pyssy has his hands clasped together around Sonnen's back. He's all about the action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sonnen drops an elbow to the side of Pyssy's head. Sonnen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pyssy tries to roll over but Sonnen keeps him under control. My spies in Sparks gym inform me that Sonnen has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pyssy is concentrating on defense, preventing Sonnen from advancing position. Pyssy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Sonnen working Pyssy over with strikes. Sonnen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Pyssy is looking to control Sonnen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pyssy avoid being mounted? Pyssy on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Pyssy tries to get out of the position. Sonnen is trying a forearm choke I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pyssy slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Pyssy knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Sonnen on the ground.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Sonnen pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Pyssy is keeping the position for now. Pyssy has his hands on Sonnen's head, controlling the position. Khamzat Sonnen dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. A punch combination from Sonnen misses. Pyssy throwing a counter right hand but Sonnen manages to avoid it. Sonnen has his takedown stuffed and Sonnen takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Sonnen is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pyssy's half guard. Pyssy tries to get to full guard but Sonnen has control of the leg. Pyssy wants to control but Sonnen is keeping busy and won't allow it. Sonnen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pyssy with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Pyssy is looking to control Sonnen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pyssy avoid being mounted? We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pyssy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sonnen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Sonnen pushing down on Pyssy's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Pyssy keeps control of the position for the meantime. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Sonnen lands a nice short elbow. Sonnen has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Pyssy wants to control but Sonnen is keeping busy and won't allow it. Khamzat Sonnen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round! Pyssy throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Sonnen stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. A jab lands there for Pyssy. Pyssy thows a left - swing and a miss! Pyssy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Sonnen, pushing him back against the cage. Pyssy has a couple of punches blocked by Sonnen.
Sonnen has clasped his hands together around Pyssy's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Sonnen working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Sonnen tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sonnen has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Pyssy is looking for a sweep.

Sonnen scores with a couple of short elbows. Sonnen tries to move into full mount but can't pass Pyssy's legs. Pyssy struggling a bit here. Pyssy prevents Sonnen from improving position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pyssy wants to control but Sonnen postures up. Pyssy is looking to regain half guard here but Sonnen keeps moving and retains side control. Who's going to make the next move? Pyssy can't do much from the bottom here. Sonnen tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Sonnen with the ground and pound but Pyssy regains half guard under the barage of strikes.

Sonnen is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Pyssy to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Pyssy shrugs it off. Sonnen controlling from mount. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Sonnen punishing his opponent with strikes. Sonnen can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pyssy is looking to escape.
And that's the end of the fight! Khamzat Sonnen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Sonnen winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
