Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devon Sage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ernesto Romero!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Romero coming out on top.
Romero keeps the fight on the outside.

Sage gets tackled into the cage by Romero. Romero maintains the clinch.
Sage jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Romero walks away with a smile on his face. Sage gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Sage gets a clinch.

Romero escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sage tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Romero paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Romero works the jab nicely.
Sage fails with an attempt to clinch.

Romero rushes Sage and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sage tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Romero just stands there and leans against the cage.

Romero escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sage takes one on the button.
Romero cracks Sage with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Romero avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Romero drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Sage defends it well.

Sage has managed to clinch.

Romero breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sage tries to clinch up but Romero circles away and keeps his distance.
A left lands for Romero.
Sage tries to close the distance and clinch but Romero swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Sage tries to clinch but Romero is having none of it.
Sage fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sage wants to clinch.
Romero feints the counter takedown.

Sage blocks a head kick by Romero.
Sage tries to counter by clinching up but Romero breaks away and moves out of range.

Romero moves into the clinch successfully.

Romero closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Romero paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Romero connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.

Sage tries to keep at a distance but Romero has taken the fight into the clinch.

Romero breaks from the clinch.
Romero thuds his right hand into Sage's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Sage is looking to clinch but Romero is avoiding it.
Romero lands a jab to the nose.

Romero has managed to clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sage tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Romero smiles and moves away.

Romero has closed the distance and engaged Sage in a clinch.

Sage ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Sage no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Sage is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sage lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Sage won't allow Romero to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sage is pushing down on Romero's leg trying to pass to half guard. Romero is fighting to maintain full guard but Sage has managed to sneak the leg through.

Sage is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Romero wants to get back to his feet.

Sage has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Romero defend it? Sage steps over the head and cranks it - Romero is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Sage!
