PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Milo Morbius (ranked 5565 p4p, 4837 weight class) and Ryu Akutagawa (ranked 252 p4p, 230 weight class). Morbius kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is milo dancing. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morbius gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Akutagawa is trying to break the clinch but Morbius is controlling him.
Akutagawa has a couple of punches blocked by Morbius.
Still in the clinch, Akutagawa scores with a nice short uppercut.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Akutagawa cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Akutagawa darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Morbius really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Akutagawa, as that shot connected.

Morbius moves into the clinch.

Akutagawa is trying to force a seperation but Morbius has the dominant position.
Akutagawa fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Akutagawa tries to break the clinch but Morbius is controlling the position.
Morbius lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Akutagawa backwards.

Morbius breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Akutagawa dips to his left and cracks Morbius with an uppercut!
Akutagawa punishes Morbius's body with a nice straight punch.
Akutagawa throws a body punch but Morbius moves out of range.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Akutagawa connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Morbius's hands.

Oh Morbius is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morbius walks straight into a right hand from Akutagawa - that's dropped him! Akutagawa jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Morbius from any more punishment! Morbius complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
