Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Gracie (ranked 4324 p4p, 4338 weight class) and Chris Weidman (ranked 523 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ethan Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Weidman!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Weidman rushes Gracie and presses him up against the cage.

Gracie ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Gracie no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Weidman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Weidman got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Weidman has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

Gracie is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Weidman pulls his head out easily.
Gracie's coaches at Sprawl & Brawl have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.
Weidman winds up and cracks Gracie with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie is looking to get back to full guard here but Weidman has managed to pass to side control instead.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee asks Weidman politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Weidman prefers to stall for the moment though.

Gracie seems a little lost for a moment, as Weidman dominates the positioning.

Gracie tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Weidman presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Weidman really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Weidman cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Gracie takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Weidman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gracie is looking to escape.

Gracie is looking to improve his position but Weidman isn't that keen on the idea.

Gracie bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Weidman can do anything to dispel that myth.

Let's hope that Weidman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gracie drops back looking for a leg! Weidman is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Weidman manages to kick Gracie off! Gracie jumps back into Weidman's guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Weidman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Weidman fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Gracie manages to avoid it.

Weidman might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Gracie haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Gracie looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Weidman has picked Gracie up and slammed him! Gracie can't keep hold of the triangle and Weidman manages to pass to side control!
Weidman is looking to take a break and control but Gracie is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Weidman is working Gracie over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Weidman is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Gracie has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Weidman is looking to defend but Gracie has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Weidman! Gracie pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Weidman taps out and this one is all over!
