Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Roelof Gerritzen (ranked 1396 p4p, 1013 weight class) and Seamus O Brien (ranked 187 p4p, 135 weight class). O Brien has chosen Pantera - The Great Southern Trendkill as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both these fighters are unbeaten, so somebody's 0 has got to go! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Seamus O Brien!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Roberts and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Brien throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Gerritzen.
O Brien moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Gerritzen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Seamus O Brien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
O Brien misses with a double jab.
O Brien cracks Gerritzen with a good jab.
O Brien throws a poor cross that misses

and Gerritzen counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Gerritzen content to control rather than advance.
Gerritzen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
O Brien regains full guard. Nicely done.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
O Brien can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gerritzen controls the pace.

O Brien stops Gerritzen from passing to mount.
O Brien is looking to reverse the position.
Gerritzen trying to control the action but O Brien is working from the bottom.
Gerritzen works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

O Brien is looking to reverse the position.
O Brien felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Gerritzen controlling the position.
O Brien is looking for a sweep.

Gerritzen misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
O Brien struggling a bit here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
O Brien is looking to improve his position.
Gerritzen is pressing down on O Brien's thigh, looking to free his foot. O Brien is holding on for now.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
O Brien is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Gerritzen.
Gerritzen half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
O Brien swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Gerritzen counters with a left and a right that stings O Brien.
O Brien waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gerritzen.
O Brien ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Gerritzen is on the wrong end of a nice combination from O Brien.

Gerritzen is rocked!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Seamus O Brien will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

O Brien connects with a jab.
Oh Gerritzen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Gerritzen glances at the clock... BAM! O Brien nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Gerritzen crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Gerritzen is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Seamus O Brien!
A very excited looking Seamus O Brien made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
