The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quick throws a combination that misses
and Thibodeaux counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

It looks like Dru Quick has been cut.

We've been informed that Thibodeaux has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Quick takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Quick is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Quick has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Yellow Lotus Center of Healing and Meditative Arts in the buildup to the fight.

Quick lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Thibodeaux goes down! The ref sends Quick to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Thibodeaux is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Thibodeaux buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Quick just misses with a punch to the body.
A nice leg kick from Thibodeaux, right into the meat of the thigh.

Thibodeaux thows a left - swing and a miss!
Thibodeaux connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Thibodeaux connects with a body shot.
Quick sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Quick throws a hook but Thibodeaux blocks it.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Nice shot lands for Quick.
Thibodeaux lands a really nice looking cross but Quick seems unphased.
Quick misses the shot to the body.
Thibodeaux scores with a one two! Quick had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Dru Quick should take that round, based on the knockdown.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Thibodeaux bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Thibodeaux has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Thibodeaux cracks Quick with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

and Thibodeaux counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Quick is rocked!
A looping hook to the body misses from Thibodeaux. Quick does a little dance to reset his feet.
Thibodeaux lands with a cross.
Oh Quick is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Quick lands with a thumping leg kick.
Thibodeaux circles away before darting back in with a big straight right hand. It connects beautifully and sends Quick tumbling to the canvas! He's out cold! Thibodeaux wins by KO!
