Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ricky Bobby! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Soren Alberts! The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alberts rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bobby counters by moving into the clinch. Bobby works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Bobby is in close to Alberts's body, working some short punches and elbows. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Alberts looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bobby controlling from the top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Alberts not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Alberts tries to clinch but Bobby moves out of range. Bobby tries a head kick but it misses.
Bobby fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Alberts to the ground. Bobby is now in Alberts's guard. Bobby controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Bobby's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bobby wants to pass the guard but Alberts is keeping the position. Bobby showing good wrestling skills to control the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Alberts working a defensive guard but Bobby manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Bobby misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Alberts is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Bobby wants to stand but Alberts has his arm trapped. Bobby taking a breather here. Further stalling from Bobby. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bobby closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Alberts is trying to escape the position but Bobby is controlling the position. Bobby will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bobby tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily. Ricky Bobby overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Alberts trying his best to control but Bobby has mounted him. Bobby content just to control the position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bobby is in the full mount, landing strikes. Bobby scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Alberts tries to lock up and control but Bobby gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bobby punishing his opponent with strikes. Bobby is looking to stand but Alberts has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Alberts slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Bobby thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Alberts's head. Bobby trying to control the pace.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alberts avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bobby. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Alberts flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Bobby wants to stand but Alberts has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Bobby looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bobby wants to pass to mount but Alberts is defending the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Alberts tries to keep at a distance but Bobby has taken the fight into the clinch. Bobby stalling against the cage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Bobby lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Alberts wants to control but Bobby is keeping busy.
Bobby takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Bobby is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Bobby prevents Alberts from improving his position. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bobby perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Alberts steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Bobby. Ricky Bobby is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Alberts avoids the head kick by Bobby.

Bobby drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Bobby has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Alberts is proving hard to escape from. Bobby lands a couple of good shots and Alberts has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Bobby sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Alberts taps out!
