And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 3 losses; Bea Mason!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.

Matariki takes the fight into the clinch.
I was talking to Matariki's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Mason successfully pulls guard.
Matariki stays in close to Mason's body and controls the position.
Mason wants to sweep but no luck.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mason has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Matariki is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Mason.

Mason is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Matariki off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Matariki seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Mason for as long as he can get away with.
Matariki has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Matariki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mason isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Matariki stacks Mason on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Matariki!

You can see the frustration on Mason's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
I would not like to be Mason right now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
