And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Lamban Gaul! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Peyton moves in looking to clinch but Gaul pushes him off. Gaul shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Gaul showed some decent athleticism there. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Peyton (0) vs (2) Gaul Peyton wants to control but Gaul is keeping busy.
Peyton looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Peyton moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gaul's corner is telling him to maintain position. Gaul got a little sloppy there for a moment and Peyton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gaul has managed to get both his arms back between Peyton's legs - danger averted. Gaul is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Gaul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Peyton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Peyton tries to roll over but Gaul keeps him under control. Gaul wants to pass the guard but Peyton is defending well. Gaul seems to be looking for submissions.
Gaul is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Peyton sees it coming and defends easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Gaul looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Gaul is looking to advance position but Peyton won't allow it. Gaul seems to be working for a kimura but Peyton defends the submission attempt. Peyton is looking for a sweep. Gaul is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Gaul with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Peyton tries to get to full guard but Gaul has control of the leg. Gaul controlling the pace.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Peyton defends it well. Gaul content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Gaul is pressing down on Peyton's thigh, looking to free his foot. Peyton is holding on for now. Gaul is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Gaul is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Peyton has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gaul is working away from the top position though. Gaul looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Gaul is looking for a kimura but Peyton is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Gaul to get the leverage. That's eight minutes gone in the round. Gaul wants to pass to mount but Peyton is defending the position. Gaul looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Peyton is trying to get back to full guard. Gaul slows the pace down in half guard. Gaul passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Peyton! Score +3 for passing guard: Peyton (0) vs (5) Gaul Gaul is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Gaul extends the arm and Peyton is forced to tap!
