Stepping Stone 19 PBP Commentary |
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 7 losses; Huckleberry Finn! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 4 losses; Klay Dee!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Cecil Peabody and Gwen Towbar.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Finn shoots in looking for a takedown. Dee tries to sprawl out of it but Finn keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dee manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Dee tries to counter by closing the distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Finn shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Dee defends it nicely.
Dee darts in and clinches Finn up against the cage.
Finn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Dee avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Dee has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Finn is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Finn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Dee is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Finn has his foot on Dee's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dee works his way back into a safe position though.
Finn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dee got a little sloppy there for a moment and Finn has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dee has managed to get both his arms back between Finn's legs - danger averted.

Dee seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Finn does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Finn is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Oblivion Gate, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Finn tries to lock up and control but Dee gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Finn is squirming around, avoiding Dee's attempts to control the action.

Finn pulls Dee in close to prevent any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Finn has his feet on Dee's thighs here. He's pushed Dee off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Dee screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
