Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dino Rex!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Daniel Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson fails with the takedown.
Johnson tries for a takedown but Rex circles away easily
and Rex counters with a head kick. That will keep Johnson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Johnson drives through with a takedown into Rex's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Johnson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rex is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Johnson, into his guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Rex wants to get up but he can't break Johnson's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Johnson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rex manages to get himself to full guard.

Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rex swivels though and keeps the full guard.

and Rex counters with a head kick. That will keep Johnson thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Johnson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rex is fending him off so far but Johnson persists. Nope, Rex circles away and we're back to standing.
Rex thinks about countering with a head kick.
Johnson throws a right hand that Rex ducks under and follows up with a left that Rex also avoids with ease.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Rex leaves Johnson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Rex is looking to counter with a body kick.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Johnson looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Johnson wants to control for a moment but Rex uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Johnson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rex does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Johnson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

As Johnson tries to get set, Rex tries to push him back and clinch up but Johnson manages to avoid the attempt.

Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rex tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rex to the ground. Rex escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
