Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Thiago de Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takero Yoshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Thiago de Souza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takero Yoshi! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Yoshi throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Yoshi cracks de Souza with an open hand slap. A jab from Yoshi misses. A jab from Yoshi finds it's way through de Souza's defenses. A solid leg kick lands there for de Souza.
de Souza has managed to clinch.
de Souza tries to land knees in the clinch but Yoshi avoids the damage to the body. de Souza throws an elbow that misses.
Yoshi lands a takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Yoshi advances position into side control! The ground and pound from Yoshi seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. de Souza tries to bench press Yoshi off him but Yoshi keeps the position. Yoshi fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Yoshi tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. de Souza can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yoshi thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. You can see the frustration on de Souza's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Yoshi trying to control the position but de Souza is working away.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. A nice leg kick lands there from de Souza. Yoshi misses with the combination.
de Souza uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Yoshi. Yoshi tries to clinch up and de Souza counters with a shoot takedown. Yoshi fights it but they end up in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. de Souza wants to control from the top but Yoshi keeps moving. Yoshi wants to sweep here but de Souza controlling him for the moment. Yoshi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. de Souza knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Yoshi on the ground. de Souza sitting in guard, not really doing much. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. de Souza trying to control the position from guard on top but Yoshi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yoshi looking to control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Yoshi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. de Souza manages to get himself to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Yoshi postures up in de Souza's guard and throws a big left but de Souza blocks it. There's a bit of a scramble here and now de Souza is on top in guard.

de Souza tries to free his leg and advance position but Yoshi is retaining full guard. de Souza sitting in guard, not really doing much. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Takero Yoshi will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Yoshi shoots in but no luck this time. de Souza clinches with his opponent.
Yoshi tries to stall but de Souza uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
de Souza's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Yoshi misses with an uppercut. Yoshi closes the distance but de Souza moves to the side and de Souza holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Yoshi blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. de Souza scores with a knee to the head.
It looks like Takero Yoshi has been cut. de Souza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. de Souza shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Yoshi napping and manages to drive through into side control! Yoshi can't do much from the bottom here. de Souza is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Yoshi is not content to let de Souza control the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Yoshi can't do much from the bottom here. Yoshi prevents de Souza from moving into mount. de Souza remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. de Souza tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

de Souza wants to control but Yoshi postures up. The strikes coming from Yoshi are missing the target in this wave of attacks. de Souza is trying to control Yoshi's posture but Yoshi avoids it. Yoshi grinds an elbow into de Souza's temple. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Yoshi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, de Souza has escaped the position, nice work there. Yoshi is breathing heavily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yoshi wants to lay and pray for a moment but de Souza keeps working. Yoshi taking a break here but de Souza is having none of it and regains half guard. de Souza tries to roll over but Yoshi keeps him under control. de Souza is doing well to control the position and prevent Yoshi from advancing to side control. Yoshi passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Yoshi is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But de Souza has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from de Souza! de Souza looking to pass the guard. Yoshi keeping moving, preventing de Souza from controlling successfully. Yoshi thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Yoshi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as de Souza controls the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Thiago de Souza dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Takero Yoshi's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
de Souza bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Yoshi blocks a head kick by de Souza.
de Souza lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. A solid leg kick lands there for de Souza.
Thiago de Souza is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. de Souza fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Yoshi manages to avoid it. Yoshi lands with a straight right. de Souza didn't see that one coming. Yoshi tries to clinch and de Souza makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. de Souza circles away from the clinch attempt.

and Yoshi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Yoshi tries to clinch and de Souza counters with a thumping low kick. de Souza lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. de Souza gets a clinch. de Souza tries to land a knee to the head but Yoshi blocks with his arms.

Yoshi creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses. de Souza has clasped his hands together around Yoshi's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Yoshi seems a little lost for a moment, as de Souza dominates the positioning. Yoshi takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Yoshi's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Yoshi manages to get back to half guard. de Souza controlling the action here. Yoshi is trying to get back to full guard. Thiago de Souza overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. de Souza takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. de Souza seems to be looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. de Souza tries to free his leg and advance position but Yoshi is retaining full guard. de Souza controlling from the top position. Yoshi throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Yoshi is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. de Souza wants to get back to his feet. Yoshi wants to control but de Souza is keeping him busy. de Souza trying to control here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. de Souza is staying active underneath Yoshi, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Yoshi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. de Souza doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Yoshi. Yoshi is trying to control. de Souza wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. de Souza tries to roll over but Yoshi keeps him under control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. de Souza lands a glancing blow to the side of Yoshi's head. Yoshi moves into range and clinches up with de Souza. Yoshi tries for a takedown. No joy.
de Souza tries to stall but Yoshi uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
A nice right hand lands inside from de Souza. Yoshi is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though. Yoshi on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
de Souza gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head. de Souza crunches a lovely knee into Yoshi's ribcage. de Souza scores with a knee to the head.

de Souza ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. de Souza no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Yoshi postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. de Souza is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Thiago de Souza showed his dominance in that final round. I think de Souza has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
