The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benn drops his hands momentarily and Bashir takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

It looks like Harris Benn has been cut.
Benn shoots in and drives through. Bashir sprawls well.
Bashir went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Benn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Bashir sprawls well initially but Benn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Bashir looks like he's trying to stand up.

Benn is looking for a kimura but Bashir is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Benn to get the leverage.

Benn drops back looking for a leg! Bashir is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Bashir manages to kick Benn off! Benn jumps back into Bashir's guard.
Benn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Bashir has his foot on Benn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Benn works his way back into a safe position though.
