Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arnusto Werhooven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Timofey Babinski!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A combination from Werhooven does no damage.
Werhooven is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Babinski.
Werhooven rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Babinski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Werhooven throws a hook but Babinski avoids it easily.
Werhooven lands with a thumping leg kick.
Werhooven misses with a hook
enabling Babinski to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Arnusto Werhooven has been cut.
Werhooven fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Werhooven scores with a punch to the head.
Werhooven lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Babinski backs up against the cage.
Babinski looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

and Babinski counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Werhooven throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Babinski on the side of the head.

A looping hook to the body misses from Werhooven. Babinski does a little dance to reset his feet.
Babinski has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Werhooven.
Werhooven connects with a single shot there.
Werhooven digs a good body shot into Babinski's ribs.
Nice uppercut lands for Werhooven. That snapped Babinski's head back.
Werhooven throws a good cross that connects.
Werhooven wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Babinski misses with a right hand
and Werhooven counters with a one-two to the body.
Werhooven walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Babinski checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Werhooven feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Babinskis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Werhooven connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Werhooven lands a slapping body shot.
Babinski takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A looping hook to the body misses from Werhooven. Babinski does a little dance to reset his feet.
Babinski is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Babinski throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Werhooven swings widly with a right hand
and Babinski counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Werhooven fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

Babinski feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Werhooven sprawling to the canvas! Werhooven rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Babinski finish him?!

and Babinski counters with a crisp right hand that drops Werhooven! Babinski lets Werhooven back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

It seemed like Babinski was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Werhooven punishes Babinski's body with a nice straight punch.
Werhooven listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Good work by Babinski as he checks the leg kick.
Werhooven slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Werhooven turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Babinski walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

and Werhooven cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Arnusto Werhooven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Babinski misses with an uppercut. Werhooven saw that one coming.
A lazy left from Werhooven finds it's target.
A nice leg kick lands there from Werhooven.

Werhooven swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Babinski counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Werhooven thinking.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Werhooven scores with a punch to the head.
A solid leg kick lands there for Babinski.
A big left from Werhooven misses.
Babinski throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Babinski throws a push kick but Werhooven slaps the foot to one side.
Babinski throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Werhooven makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Babinski throws a combination that misses
and Werhooven counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Babinski thinking.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and Werhooven takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Babinski takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Werhooven turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Werhooven thumps Babinski with a low kick.
Werhooven lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Werhooven throws a hook to the side of Babinski's head but Babinski sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Babinski only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Werhooven moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Werhooven throws a jab when Babinski was well out of range.
Babinski takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Babinski takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Werhooven scores with a nice head shot.
Werhooven misses with a hook. Babinski ducked under it nicely.
A nice side step and Babinski releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Werhooven has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Werhooven lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Oh Werhooven is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Babinski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Babinski walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Werhooven drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Babinski swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Werhooven's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Timofey Babinski!
