The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Crowder keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
Johnson tries to free his leg and advance position but Crowder is retaining full guard.
Crowder is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Johnson wants to pass the guard but Crowder is keeping the position.
Crowder on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Crowder tries to get out of the position.
Johnson is pushing down on Crowder's leg trying to pass to half guard. Crowder is fighting to maintain full guard but Johnson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Johnson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Crowder has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Johnson is working away from the top position though.

Johnson is taking a breather. Crowder says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Crowder is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Johnson is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Johnson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
