PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Olyn Seran (ranked 541 p4p, 733 weight class) and Peter Zonta (ranked 90 p4p, 113 weight class). Seran comes to the cage accompanied by Sound of Silence - Disturbed. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of New York, Olyn Seran!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Peter Zonta!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zonta looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Seran is fending him off so far but Zonta persists. Nope, Seran circles away and we're back to standing.
Zonta paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Zonta fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Seran takes a shot right to the bread basket.
A combination from Zonta does no damage.
Donk. Zonta catches Seran right on the button with a cross.
Zonta throws a hook but Seran avoids it easily.
It looked like Seran wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Zonta waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Seran.
Seran throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
A right-left combo lands from Zonta.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Zonta feints and as Seran raises his hands in defense, Zonta changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Zonta is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Seran has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Zonta is looking to defend but Seran has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Zonta! Seran pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Zonta taps out and this one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Olyn Seran!
Olyn Seran decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
