Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edvard Matiae (ranked 5983 p4p, 24804 weight class) and Wala Sapi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Edvard Matiae has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Edvard Matiae seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Edvard Matiae!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wala Sapi!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Valeri Chadov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Sapi.
Sapi replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Matiae blocks it well.
Edvard Matiae seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Matiae looks to throw the jab but Sapi is out of range.
Matiae throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Sapi sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Sapi shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Matiae as he jumps to the side.
Matiae definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Matiae takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Sapi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Matiae scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
It looks like Wala Sapi has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matiae thuds a left hand into Sapi's body.
Matiae pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A jab from Matiae misses.
Matiae dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Matiae connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Matiae throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Sapi is trying to counter with his kicks.
Matiae scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Matiae lands a nice hook to Sapi's body. Sapi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Sapi looks winded!
BOOM! Matiae lands a beautiful left hook that drops Sapi. Sapi tries to recover but Matiae is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Sapi lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Edvard Matiae!
