Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lou Higgins (ranked 154 p4p, 122 weight class) and Baldur Torsten (ranked 25 p4p, 19 weight class). Torsten is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Temple of Odin. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lou Higgins! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 24 - 12 - 0, fighting out of London, Baldur Torsten! The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Ben Hemmingworth and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Torsten slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Higgins scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like Baldur Torsten has been cut. Higgins scores with a punch to the head. Torsten works Higgins's body with a nice hook. Higgins looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Torsten avoids a lazy jab quite easily. A slow jab from Higgins misses its intended target. Higgins checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. We've been informed that Torsten has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result. Higgins misses with an uppercut
and Torsten counters with a low kick, right behind Higgins 's knee. Torsten connects with a leg kick. A nice leg kick lands there from Torsten. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Higgins throws a shot from downtown. Torsten moves away and avoids it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Higgins throws a jab but it's blocked by Torsten. Torsten tries to counter by closing the distance. Torsten ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. A big right from Higgins misses. Torsten scores with a jab. Higgins acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Torsten looks to land a left hand but Higgins moved out of range nicely. Torsten displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Higgins throws out the jab. Torsten moves into the clinch. Higgins's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lou Higgins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Higgins misses with a looping right. Torsten slips under a jab from Higgins. Torsten is looking for the big counter here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Higgins checks the leg kick nicely there.
Higgins misses with a lunging right hand
and Torsten counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Higgins throws a jab but it's blocked by Torsten. Torsten slips under a jab from Higgins. Higgins has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Torsten. Higgins moves away from the strike by Torsten. Torsten with a nice cross. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Torsten connects with a solid leg kick. Higgins tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Higgins looks to land a right hand but Torsten moved out of range. Torsten waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Higgins. Higgins swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect. A shot to the liver by Higgins. Beautiful body shot. Torsten displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Higgins throws out the jab. Torsten lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Torsten throws a head kick but Higgins moves out of range.
Higgins drops Torsten with a beautiful combination! Torsten stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Higgins is looking for the KO! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Higgins throws a leg kick but Torsten sees it coming and checks it nicely. Torsten gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A short right hand to the side of the head by Higgins. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Higgins. Higgins is trying to push Torsten away but Torsten has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Torsten lands a nice uppercut. Higgins blocks a body shot from Torsten. Higgins lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Torsten backwards. Higgins manages to break the clinch.
Higgins scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
That has opened up Baldur Torsten's cut even more. Torsten ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Higgins takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
The fighters circling - Higgins throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Higgins looks to throw the jab but Torsten is out of range. Torsten throws a hook but Higgins avoids it easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Lou Higgins will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Baldur Torsten's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Higgins throws out a loose jab but Torsten uses good head movement to avoid it. Torsten throws a front kick that sends Higgins stumbling back into the cage. Higgins's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Torsten connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Higgins scrambles back to his feet.
It looks like Lou Higgins has been cut. Torsten lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Torsten cracks Higgins with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Higgins falls to his knees and Torsten doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Baldur Torsten! Baldur Torsten seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
