Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gassey Jack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack comes to the cage accompanied by Stand up like a hurricane. James has chosen We Want The Funk by George Clinton & the P-Funk Allstars as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Freddy James!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James misses with a few strikes there.
Jack cracks James with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jack thows a body shot but no joy.

Jack fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with James, pushing him back against the cage.

Jack tries to bum rush James with a series of wild strikes but James uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

James has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from James there as he acknowledges the shot.

Jack's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Jack duly obliges.
James takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Jack moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


James is rocked!
Jack dips to his left and cracks James with an uppercut!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gassey Jack dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
