Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aryah Thurston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Reaper Sickle!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Elvis Blanc and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sickle is defended easily by Thurston.
No luck for Sickle with that takedown attempt.
Aryah Thurston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sickle wants to clinch up but Thurston keeps it at a distance.
Thurston rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Sickle moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Thurston moves into range and clinches up with Sickle.
Sickle tries to break free but Thurston pushes him back against the cage.
Thurston turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Thurston manages to end up in side control.
Thurston scores with punches from side control.
Thurston grinds an elbow into Sickle's temple.
Sickle is rocked!
Sickle looks gassed!
Thurston has hold of Sickle's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Sickle seems comfortable defending it but Thurston has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Sickle is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Sickle is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Thurston couldn't care less - he's delighted!
