Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Hunt (ranked 5044 p4p, 5551 weight class) and Jacob Hopson (ranked 551 p4p, 572 weight class). Mark Hunt has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Hunt! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jacob Hopson! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hunt shoots in for a takedown but Hopson shows good takedown defense. Hunt looks for a takedown but Hopson sprawls well. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hunt is defended easily by Hopson. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Hunt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hunt shoots in for a takedown but Hopson shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Hunt shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunt will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Hopson tries a quick counter leg kick but Hunt is wise to it. Hunt is breathing heavily. Hunt is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hopson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Hunt gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hopson counters with a slapping leg kick.

Hunt shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hunt gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hopson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hunt's knee momentarily. Hunt fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Hopson only half commits to the counter leg kick. Hunt fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Hunt shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Hunt fails with the takedown and Hopson counters with a nice kick to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hopson stuffs the takedown. As Hunt backs off Hopson throws a huge counter combo but Hunt manages to avoid it all. Hopson blocks a head kick by Hunt.
Hopson throws a big counter head kick but Hunt avoids it with no problem. Hunt shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hopson sprawls well. Hopson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Hunt gets slowly back to his feet. Hopson unleashes a big counter combination but Hunt bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Hopson has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Hunt wants to clinch up but Hopson keeps it at a distance. Hunt shoots for a double leg takedown but Hopson sprawls well. He's pushed Hunt's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Hunt with a poor takedown and Hopson counters with a head kick that drops Hunt - he's looking to finish, following his stunned foe to the ground!
Hunt is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hopson wants to get back to his feet.
Oh Hunt is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunt might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Hunt is looking for a sweep. Hopson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Hopson wants to stand but Hunt has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Hopson decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Hunt shoots and misses and Hopson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Hunt's knee momentarily. Hunt wants to clinch and Hopson counters with a slapping leg kick. Nice takedown defense from Hopson. No joy for Hunt on that attempt. Hopson counters with a body kick. Hunt shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hopson counters with a leg kick. Hunt seems to have got his legs back now. Hunt fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hopson avoids it really well and circles away. Hunt fails with a takedown attempt. Hopson flicks out a counter leg kick but Hunt steps away. Hopson swats away the attempt to clinch by Hunt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hunt looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hunt tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Hopson counters with a nice leg kick. Hunt shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Hopson counters with a flying knee that drops Hunt! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Hopson wants to stand but Hunt has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Hopson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jacob Hopson dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Hunt tries for a takedown but Hopson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. As Hunt backs off Hopson throws a huge counter combo but Hunt manages to avoid it all. Hunt is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Hunt. Hopson is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Hunt fails to land the takedown. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Hunt. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hunt is looking to clinch but Hopson is avoiding it.

Hunt shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hopson pinned against the cage. Hopson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Hopson throws a big counter head kick but Hunt avoids it with no problem. Hunt tries for a takedown but Hopson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Hopson only half commits to the counter leg kick. Hunt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hopson as he jumps to the side. And Hopson responds with a good body kick, but Hunt manages to step out the way in time. Hunt throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hopson's waist but Hopson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hunt off to one side. Hunt tries to clinch up. Mark Hunt is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Hunt doesn't succeed with the takedown and Hopson counters with a leg kick. Hunt darts in trying to clinch and Hopson counters with an outside leg kick.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunt darts in trying to clinch and Hopson counters with a flying knee that drops Hunt! Hopson dives in and finishes the fight with a flurry of strikes from the mount!

As Jacob Hopson got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: I just want to thank Wolves for allowing me to show them my talent...
