PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rob Thornton (ranked 5456 p4p, 5284 weight class) and Jesse Kruger (ranked 579 p4p, 574 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Jesse Kruger was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thornton swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kruger counters with a nice double leg into half guard.

Kruger seems to be working for a kimura but Thornton defends the submission attempt.
Thornton is looking for a sweep. Kruger is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Kruger is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Thornton doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kruger.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Kruger slips a nice elbow through Thornton's hands, connecting with Thornton's forehead.
Kruger is thwarting Thornton's attempts to control the position.
Thornton is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kruger is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Kruger seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Kruger winds up and cracks Thornton with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Kruger lands a nice short elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kruger is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Thornton!
Thornton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kruger on the ground.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kruger cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Kruger fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
