PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Uriah Heath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Oswald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Heath might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Asche zu Asche. Uriah Heath is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Uriah Heath!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Oswald!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oswald fails with an attempt to clinch.
Heath uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Oswald.
Oswald will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Heath showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Oswald.
Heath shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Heath moves out of range of the body kick from Oswald.
Heath ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Oswald throws a series of punches but Heath avoids them all with ease.
Heath fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Oswald. No joy for Heath on that attempt.

Heath has hold of Oswald's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Oswald manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Oswald wants to get back to his feet.

Oswald is in a horrible position here. Heath smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Heath has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Oswald bucks Heath off and manages to get back to his feet!
Heath keeps the fight on the outside.
Oswald throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Heath on the side of the head.
Mark Oswald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Oswald looks gassed!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Heath.

Heath changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Oswald looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Heath wants to control but Oswald is keeping him busy.
Heath really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Heath throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Oswald is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Heath is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oswald is working to avoid the ground and pound but Heath connects with a decent elbow.

Oswald will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Oswald throws a right hand that Heath ducks under and follows up with a left that Heath also avoids with ease.

Heath content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Heath creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Oswald sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nice sprawl there from Oswald as Heath shoots in.
Heath changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oswald tries to avoid it but Heath manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oswald to the ground. Oswald escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Heath closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oswald to the mat! Oswald manages to get full guard.

Heath makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Heath accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Heath postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Oswald is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Heath, into his guard.
Heath will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Oswald gets to his feet - Heath follows without any prompting.
Oswald doesn't manage to clinch there - Heath circles away.

Heath lets loose with a powerful body kick. Oswald will feel that in the morning.
Oswald walks forward, straight into a front kick from Heath.
Heath shoots in for a double leg but Oswald sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Heath takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Uriah Heath showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Heath, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
