Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jeff Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zac Davies!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cooper tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Davies is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Cooper.
Davies lands a glancing blow to the side of Cooper's head.
Cooper tries to close the distance and clinch but Davies swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Cooper fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Davies avoids it really well and circles away.
Cooper takes a jab right on the kisser.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Davies gets through Cooper's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Davies looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Davies escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Davies thuds his right hand into Cooper's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
It looks like Jeff Cooper has been cut.
Cooper on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Jeff Cooper seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cooper tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
We've been hearing reports that Cooper has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Cooper tries to clinch but Davies is having none of it.
Horrible takedown attempt by Cooper or perhaps it was just good defense by Davies, which made it look bad.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Cooper lands with a right hand.
Cooper throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Davies's waist but Davies gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cooper off to one side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jeff Cooper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cooper's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Davies connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Cooper scrambles back to his feet.
Cooper is rocked!
Davies throws a monster overhand right that drops Cooper! Davies follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
