This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 3 wins and 2 losses; Snail Tail! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 3 losses; Wang Dong!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Seu Braga.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Dong shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Tail manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Tail is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Tail has his foot on Dong's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dong works his way back into a safe position though.

Tail looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Tail's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Tail is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Tail has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Tail wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dong keeps working.

Tail tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tail has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dong is trying to control Tail's posture but Tail avoids it.
Dong stops Tail from passing to mount.
Dong is trying to escape the position but Tail is controlling the position.
Dong tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dong can't do much from the bottom here.
Tail is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dong's shoulder. That is not cool.

Dong regains half guard.
Tail looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Tail in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Dong tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Tail!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 10:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Snail Tail!
In his post fight interview, Snail Tail started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
