Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Freddy Barnes (ranked 3283 p4p, 22433 weight class) and Sven Eriksson (ranked 445 p4p, 656 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Freddy Barnes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sven Eriksson! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Barnes misses with a hook
and Eriksson counters with a body kick that stops Barnes in his tracks momentarily. We've been hearing reports that Barnes has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Barnes connects with a body shot. Barnes swings widly with a right hand
and Eriksson counters with a stiff right hand. A looping hook to the body misses from Barnes. Eriksson does a little dance to reset his feet. It seemed like Eriksson was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Barnes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Eriksson manages to avoid it. Barnes tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Eriksson was well out of range. Poor timing from Barnes. Eriksson misses with a kick to the body.
Barnes moves into range and connects with a jab. Eriksson slaps away a takedown attempt from Barnes, before circling back to the center of the mat. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barnes misses with a shot to the body and Eriksson counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters. Barnes is looking to wear down Eriksson with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment. Barnes scores with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eriksson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Barnes connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Eriksson scrambles back to his feet. Barnes moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Eriksson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Eriksson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A punch lands to the side of Eriksson 's head but he takes it in his stride. Barnes just misses with a punch to the body.
Barnes drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Eriksson can't do much from the bottom here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Barnes is looking to take a break and control but Eriksson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Barnes postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Eriksson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Barnes. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Eriksson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. The strikes coming from Barnes are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Barnes looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Barnes scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Eriksson to see if he's OK. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Eriksson can do anything to dispel that myth. Eriksson is looking to reverse the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barnes working the ground and pound but Eriksson is defending the strikes. Eriksson dodges the ground and pound from Barnes. Barnes trying to control the action but Eriksson is working from the bottom. Barnes is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Eriksson has escaped the position, nice work there. Eriksson is pushing Barnes's head away, looking to escape. Barnes manages to hold on to the position though. Barnes is trying to get an arm triangle but Eriksson is defending well. Eriksson parries the strikes from Barnes easily there. Barnes is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Eriksson to escape.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Eriksson takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Barnes landing a few strikes. Eriksson is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Eriksson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Eriksson is holding Barnes down, trying to stall. Barnes misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Barnes tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Freddy Barnes dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. Eriksson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Eriksson needs to keep his hands up - Barnes had a free shot at his head there. Freddy Barnes is winning the standup battle so far. Barnes throws a leg kick and Eriksson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Eriksson avoids a punch combination nicely.
A jab from Barnes misses. Eriksson throws out a counter right but Barnes avoids it with no problem. A looping hook to the body misses from Barnes. Eriksson does a little dance to reset his feet. Eriksson punishes Barnes's body with a nice straight punch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Barnes misses with an uppercut. Barnes misses with a two punch combination.
Eriksson lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Barnes motions for Eriksson to come forward. Barnes throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Eriksson! But no joy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Eriksson needs to keep his hands up - Barnes had a free shot at his head there. Barnes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Eriksson can do to turn this around? Barnes scores with a hook. Barnes misses with a straight left. Eriksson thows a body kick. Barnes tries to catch it but that hurt him. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Eriksson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Barnes sprawling to the canvas! Barnes rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Eriksson finish him?!
Barnes is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Barnes misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Eriksson counters with a huge right that knocks Barnes out cold! Eriksson is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Sven Eriksson!
