Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Remi Johnson (ranked 771 p4p, 2478 weight class) and Herbert Mullin (ranked 116 p4p, 301 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Remi Johnson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Herbert Mullin! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Patrick Alders and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson lands an overhand right. Johnson throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Mullin has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Herbert Mullin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mullin throws an off balance right hand
and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand. Nice uppercut lands for Johnson. That snapped Mullin's head back.
Mullin closes the distance and clinches. Mullin misses with the head strike.
Mullin swings away with an uppercut that misses.

It seemed like Mullin was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Mullin takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Mullin clinches. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mullin closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Mullin lands a hook that snaps the head of Johnson backwards. Mullin misses with a shot to the kidneys.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson is not content to let Mullin control the position. Mullin lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Johnson down.
Mullin decides to stand back up. Mullin steps back and let's Johnson get back to his feet. Mullin throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Johnson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mullin goes for a double leg but Johnson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Johnson continues to drive forward. Mullin looks for a takedown but Johnson sprawls well. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Remi Johnson is winning the standup battle so far. Mullin moves into range and connects with a jab. Mullin misses with a double jab
letting Johnson counter with a right hand. Mullin has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Johnson throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mullin is looking to clinch. The fight stays on the outside here - Mullin looks like he's thinking about clinching though. It looks like Johnson has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him. Mullin closes the distance and clinches. Johnson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Mullin wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Mullin manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Mullin lands a left hand.

Mullin closes the distance and pushes Johnson back into the cage. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Johnson manages to break the clinch.

And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Herbert Mullin. I've got Mullin winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
