The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Thomas Rose has been cut.
A big right from Osuna misses.
Joaquin Osuna seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rose takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Osuna cracks Rose with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Osuna looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Osuna bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Osuna fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rose manages to avoid it.

and Osuna counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Osuna throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rose stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Rose takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Rose takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Osuna uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Rose.

Osuna ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rose moves away.
Osuna lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Osuna throws an overhand right that lands on Rose's shoulder, as Rose tries to avoid the shot.

and Osuna makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Rose moves out of range of the strikes.
Rose takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Osuna goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Rose ducks right into an uppercut from Osuna.

Thomas Rose's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Osuna lands a nice shot that snaps Rose's head back.
Osuna swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rose throws a lazy uppercut
and Osuna counters with a lovely shot to the body.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A relieved looking Joaquin Osuna thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
