Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between DeVon Hampton (ranked 975 p4p, 1904 weight class) and Kambei Shimada (ranked 138 p4p, 271 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Shimada's choice of entrance music: Seven Samurai. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, DeVon Hampton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kambei Shimada!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Robert Douchet and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hampton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hampton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Shimada defending against the ground and pound.
Hampton has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hampton tries to advance to mount but Shimada denies him.
Shimada is looking to reverse the position.
Hampton working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Hampton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hampton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Hampton is chipping away with strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shimada managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Hampton.
Hampton working the ground and pound but Shimada is defending the strikes.
Hampton is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shimada knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hampton misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Hampton creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Shimada sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Hampton looks up at the clock and then as Shimada takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Hampton smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Hampton is trying to get an arm triangle but Shimada is defending well.
Shimada tries to buck Hampton off but Hampton is having none of it.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hampton has hold of Shimada's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Shimada seems comfortable defending it but Hampton has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Shimada is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Shimada is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Hampton couldn't care less - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). DeVon Hampton!
A relieved looking DeVon Hampton thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
In defeat, Kambei Shimada stepped up to the mic, saying 'I commit seppuku tomorrow'.
