Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Minatay Mibangon (ranked 24862 p4p, 4252 weight class) and Charles Grimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grimm closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mibangon circles away.
Mibangon jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.

The fight stays on the outside here - Grimm looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Grimm shoots in for a takedown but Mibangon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Grimm tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Mibangon manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It appears Mibangon was looking to counter with a kick there.

Grimm tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mibangon paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Grimm shoots in looking for a takedown but Mibangon manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Grimm's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Grimm has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mibangon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A jab lands there for Grimm.
Grimm pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Grimm darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Grimm wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Mibangon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mibangon showed some decent athleticism there.
Grimm has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mibangon is working away from the top position though.

Grimm is concentrating on defense, preventing Mibangon from advancing position.

Mibangon's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Grimm wants to control but Mibangon is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters, thinking about a standup.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Mibangon stuffs the takedown attempt from Grimm. Grimm gets slowly back to his feet.

Mibangon closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Grimm quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Grimm shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mibangon pinned against the cage. Mibangon gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Grimm stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mibangon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grimm manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mibangon manages to get himself to full guard.

Mibangon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Grimm wants to pass the guard but Mibangon is keeping the position.

Mibangon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
