Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lorde Mannion (ranked 5007 p4p, 6047 weight class) and Asanoyama Hideki (ranked 495 p4p, 555 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lorde Mannion! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Asanoyama Hideki! The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Colin Fray and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hideki takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Mannion misses with a right hand and Hideki counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mannion won't be happy with that. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hideki avoids the strikes from the bottom by Mannion. Mannion tries to buck Hideki off but Hideki is having none of it. Mannion manages to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mannion is staying active underneath Hideki, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Mannion wants to improve his position but Hideki is controlling well.
Hideki wants to take a breather but Mannion is having none of it. Mannion trying to control but Hideki postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mannion taking some punishment here, with Hideki in his half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hideki connects with a nice short shot to Mannion's temple. Mannion keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Hideki is looking to stall here but Mannion recovers full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mannion tries to land a sweep but no joy. Hideki slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Mannion working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hideki. Hideki postures up.
Hideki lands a couple of elbows. Mannion is looking to stand up but Hideki isn't so interested in that idea. Mannion lands an upkick as Hideki stands over him. Hideki is looking to work some ground and pound but Mannion has wrist control. Hideki working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hideki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Hideki trying to control but Mannion is working from the bottom. Mannion avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Hideki in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mannion is trying to keep Hideki in close.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Mannion scores with a punch to the head. Hideki blocks the body kick.
Hideki scores with a decent looking hook. Mannion has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Hideki. Hideki gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Mannion counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Mannion has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
It looks like Lorde Mannion has been cut.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hideki fails with the takedown. Mannion appears to be looking for a big counter. Mannion with a body punch. A glancing blow. Hideki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Mannion lands a lovely overhand right.
It looks like Asanoyama Hideki has been cut. Hideki fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Mannion on the side of the head. Hideki bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Mannion's head. A head kick misses from Mannion. We've been informed that Hideki has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Mannion scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Mannion missing with a left hand there. Hideki was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hideki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mannion.
Mannion sets himself, and Hideki steps forward looking for the clinch! Mannion avoids it this time. A low kick from Mannion misses and Hideki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mannion misses with a looping left. Hideki is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. Mannion looks to throw a body kick and Hideki counters with an inside leg kick. Asanoyama Hideki seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. This has been an exciting period of action! Mannion needs to keep his hands up - Hideki had a free shot at his head there. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Hideki checks a leg kick. A little jabbing left from Hideki on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Hideki scores with a sloppy right hand. Mannion should have avoided that one. Mannion throws a body kick but he was well out of range there. Lorde Mannion is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Hideki misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hideki lands an overhand right. Hideki thuds his right hand into Mannion's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Mannion gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hideki to score an easy takedown into full guard. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Asanoyama Hideki dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Mannion jabbing away but nothing is landing. Hideki shoots in and gets a takedown into Mannion's guard. Mannion pushes Hideki off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Mannion swings for the body but Hideki moves out of range.
Hideki fails with a takedown attempt. A nice leg kick lands there from Mannion. Hideki plants his feet and lands a nice head kick! Mannion throws a series of punches but Hideki avoids them all with ease.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hideki tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mannion defends well and Hideki ends up having to push Mannion into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Mannion misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Hideki wants to clinch up but Mannion keeps it at a distance. As Hideki tries to get set, Mannion tries to push him back and clinch up but Hideki manages to avoid the attempt. Hideki fails with an attempt to clinch.
Mannion seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter. Mannion throws a left and a right that both miss
and Hideki counters with a left and a right that stings Mannion. Mannion on the wrong end of a nice hook. Mannion misses with a jab, cross combination.
An inside leg kick lands from Hideki. Hideki bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Mannion is rocked! Hideki closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Mannion out cold! Mannion corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Asanoyama Hideki!
