Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Aahil Mohammad! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mauno Pirhonen! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Joseph Jones and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mohammad shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mohammad showed some decent athleticism there. Mohammad scoring with strikes to the body and head. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mohammad lands a nice short elbow. Mohammad thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Mohammad has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Let's see if Pirhonen can do anything to dispel that myth. Mohammad looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Pirhonen with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Mohammad looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Mohammad winds up and cracks Pirhonen with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Mohammad lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Mohammad takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Pirhonen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mohammad. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pirhonen is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mohammad scores with a couple of nice shots. Mohammad seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Mohammad working over Pirhonen with some ground and pound. Pirhonen is rocked! Pirhonen looks winded! Mohammad lands a big elbow - Pirhonen is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Mohammad!
