And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Wilfredo Wild! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Ben Watson.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Boaz gets the takedown into side control. Score +4 for clean takedown past guard: Boaz (4) vs (0) Wild Boaz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Wild being controlled for a moment. Boaz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wild manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Score +2 for sweep to guard / half guard: Boaz (4) vs (2) Wild
That's one minute gone in the round. Boaz controlling the leg, holding on to half guard. Wild trying to control from Boaz's half guard. Boaz has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Wild wants to pass the guard but Boaz is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boaz keeping moving, preventing Wild from controlling successfully. Wild trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. We've been hearing good reports from Boaz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Boaz wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Wild is pushing down on Boaz's leg trying to pass to half guard. Boaz is fighting to maintain full guard but Wild has managed to sneak the leg through. Wild is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Boaz is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
