Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fredrico Schmico (ranked 3339 p4p, 1970 weight class) and Dalton Swas (ranked 379 p4p, 255 weight class). Dalton Swas will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fredrico Schmico! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dalton Swas! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A low kick from Schmico misses and Swas counters with a shoot takedown. Schmico fights it but they end up in guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swas wants to control from the top but Schmico keeps moving. Swas stops Schmico from standing up. Swas throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Swas wants to pass the guard but Schmico is keeping the position. Swas is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Swas trying to control but Schmico is working from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swas is looking to advance position but Schmico has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount! Schmico trying to control but Swas is having none of it. Swas tries to hold on but Schmico postures up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Swas is desperately trying to improve his position but Schmico has a good base and remains in mount. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Swas can do anything to dispel that myth. Swas wants to hold on but Schmico pushes him away. Schmico content just to control the position here. Swas tries to hold on but Schmico postures up. Schmico can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Swas is looking to escape.

Schmico trying to control but he's not successful this time. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Swas wants to hold on but Schmico pushes him away. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Schmico takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Fredrico Schmico dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Swas takes a swing at Schmico's ribcage but misses. Some wild striking there from Schmico.
Swas wants to counter with a clinch but Schmico pushes him away. A low kick from Schmico misses and Swas counters with a nice double leg into guard. Swas sitting in guard here, content to control. Swas must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Schmico wants to stand but Swas is controlling the position. Swas stays in close to Schmico's body and controls the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schmico wants to stand up but Swas is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Swas trying to control the position from guard on top but Schmico is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Schmico throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Schmico gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Schmico is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Swas can do to turn this around? Swas is trying to break free.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Swas content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Swas breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Swas blocks a head kick by Schmico.
Swas walks into a left hand. Fredrico Schmico is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Schmico swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
And Swas tries to counter it with a takedown but Schmico pushes his down on his head and steps out. Schmico gets tackled into the cage by Swas. Swas maintains the clinch. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Swas has had enough of the clinch but Schmico keeps him there for the moment. Swas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Schmico fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Schmico swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Schmico's jab looks to have found its range, popping Swas under the eye. Schmico throws a right hand that Swas ducks under and follows up with a left that Swas also avoids with ease. Swas steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Schmico.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Schmico tries to clinch but Swas is having none of it. Nice takedown defense from Schmico. No joy for Swas on that attempt. Schmico scores with a nice right hand.
Schmico wants to clinch up but Swas keeps it at a distance. And Swas responds with a good body kick, but Schmico manages to step out the way in time. Schmico misses with a two punch combination.
Schmico wants to slow Swas down by chopping away at his legs. Schmico has closed the distance and engaged Swas in a clinch.
Schmico escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Swas with a poor takedown and Schmico counters with a lovely straight right hand! Fredrico Schmico has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dalton Swas. Swas tries to clinch but Schmico moves away and Schmico counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Swas looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Swas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Schmico is keeping the position for now. Schmico wants to stand but Swas is controlling the position. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Schmico shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Swas shoots in looking for a takedown. Schmico tries to sprawl out of it but Swas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Schmico manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Schmico moves into the clinch. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schmico pulls guard effortlessly. Schmico wants to stand but Swas is controlling the position.

Schmico manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Swas keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage. Swas fails to pull guard.

Schmico tries to avoid it but Swas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schmico to the ground. Schmico escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Schmico tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Swas paws at him with a jab and circles away. Swas takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Schmico throws a push kick but Swas slaps the foot to one side. Fredrico Schmico is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Swas will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. A clash of legs there as Swas blocks the low kick. Fredrico Schmico seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Schmico moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body. Schmico darts in and clinches Swas up against the cage. Schmico breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Swas blocks a leg kick. Swas tries to counter with a clinch but Schmico shakes him off and moves away. Swas avoids a low kick by using good footwork. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Schmico misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Swas throws a low kick, looking for Schmico's leg but Schmico calmly moves out of range. Schmico throws a big counter combination but Swas scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. Fredrico Schmico is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Schmico tries to clinch up but Swas circles away and keeps his distance. Swas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Schmico tries to avoid it but Swas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Schmico to the ground. Schmico escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Schmico dodges the punch combination from Swas.
Schmico lands with a nice combination. Swas backs away looking to recover.
And that's the end of the fight! Fredrico Schmico showed his dominance in that final round. Well Schmico has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
