This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 9 losses; Ace Rob! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; Zima Voin!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Voin closes the distance and pushes Rob back into the cage.
Rob prevents a takedown attempt there.

We've been hearing good reports from Rob's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Voin is not content to let Rob control the position.
Rob takes a little break here. Voin wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Voin felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Rob holds on and takes a little breather.
Rob's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Voin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rob swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Rob bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Voin's guard.

Rob working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Voin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Rob is tightening it up a little... Voin has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Voin reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Voin taps out! Nice BJJ there by Rob!
