This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Gino Gambini! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Kasher Quon! The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Quon stuffs the takedown attempt from Gambini. Gambini gets slowly back to his feet. Quon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Gambini fails to land the takedown. Quon is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gino Gambini. That's going to take a lot out of him. Nice takedown defense from Gambini. No joy for Quon on that attempt. Gambini tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Quon defends well and Gambini ends up having to push Quon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Quon tries to counter with a clinch but Gambini shakes him off and moves away. Gambini can't get the takedown.

Quon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gambini. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gambini shoots in but no luck this time. Gambini sets himself, and Quon steps forward looking for the clinch! Gambini avoids it this time. Quon stuffs the takedown. Quon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Quon forces Gambini back against the cage and clinches.

Quon pulls guard effortlessly. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Quon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Gambini controls the pace. Gambini postures up.

Gambini stalling. Gambini definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Gambini really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Quon is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gambini pulls his head out easily.

Gambini tries to pass the half guard into mount. Quon knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gambini moves nicely into side control. Gambini is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Quon is looking to reverse the position. Gambini is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Quon will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Quon is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are battling for position here. Gambini manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Gambini lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard. Quon is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Quon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gambini is aware though and is defending well. A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Quon is looking to regain half guard here but Gambini keeps moving and retains side control. Quon is being controlled here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Quon is still trying to improve position. Gambini content just to control the position here. Gambini seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Quon for as long as he can get away with.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
