And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Ross Kemp! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Kemp darts in and clinches Schaubi up against the cage. Schaubi fails to pull guard.
Kemp has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Schaubi uses from the top position. Schaubi is fighting to break Kemp's control of his arms but Kemp is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Schaubi trying to control the position from guard on top but Kemp is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Kemp keeping full guard, as Schaubi tries to pass. Kemp throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schaubi got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kemp has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Schaubi has managed to get both his arms back between Kemp's legs - danger averted. Schaubi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kemp is looking to cinch up a triangle. Schaubi throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Kemp's body to avoid the submission. Kemp has instead reached around Schaubi's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Kemp arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ross Kemp! Ross Kemp decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well. In defeat, Abu Schaubi stepped up to the mic, saying 'Gawld dawg'. |
