And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Simon Cross! The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Bob shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cross but Cross pushes him off and we're back to square one. Cross tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Bob has a takedown stuffed. Bob shoots in looking for a takedown. Cross tries to sprawl out of it but Bob keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Cross manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Bob. That's going to take a lot out of him. Cross is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Bob's half guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Bob (0) vs (2) Cross Bob looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cross is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Score +3 for passing guard: Bob (0) vs (5) Cross Cross wants to take Bob's back but he can't do it this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bob is looking to improve his position but Cross isn't that keen on the idea. Cross controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bob on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bob tries to get out of the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Cross quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Cross but it's paid off an Bob is forced to tap! Nice work by Cross.
