And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Shavkat Rhakmanov! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Leandro Rodrigues.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Tengri closes the distance and pushes Rhakmanov back into the cage. Tengri is looking to take this one to the mat. Rhakmanov tries to pull guard but Tengri holds him up against the cage and eventually Rhakmanov drops back down to his feet.
Rhakmanov tries to score a body lock takedown but Tengri shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Rhakmanov fails to pull guard.
Munkh Tengri has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shavkat Rhakmanov. Tengri is pressed up against the cage. Rhakmanov has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tengri down to the mat. Tengri avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Rhakmanov tries to keep at a distance but Tengri has taken the fight into the clinch. Tengri has clasped his hands together around Rhakmanov's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rhakmanov stops Tengri from passing to mount. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Tengri is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rhakmanov will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Rhakmanov trying to control but Tengri flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Score +3 for taking back: Tengri (7) vs (0) Rhakmanov Tengri controls the position. Tengri has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Rhakmanov trying to control the position but Tengri manages to sink in the hooks. Tengri is riding his opponent, not letting Rhakmanov buck him off.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. Tengri's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Tengri continues to hold on tight.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Rhakmanov trying to control the position but Tengri manages to sink in the hooks. What can Rhakmanov do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
