Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Juha Ahokas (ranked 3592 p4p, 2689 weight class) and Boyka Kersikov (ranked 464 p4p, 358 weight class). Kersikov is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nosferatu - When Angels Cry. Juha Ahokas is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juha Ahokas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Boyka Kersikov!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahokas misses with a looping right.
A little jabbing left from Kersikov on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Kersikov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Ahokas misses with a body shot
and Kersikov counters with a straight right hand.
Kersikov has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ahokas. Kersikov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ahokas scores with a nice head shot.

Ahokas ducks under a wild hook from Kersikov.
Ahokas misses with a left hand
and Kersikov counters with a straight right hand.
Kersikov looks to land a right hand but Ahokas moved out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Ahokas has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Ahokas fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Kersikov looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Kersikov avoids the body shot from Ahokas.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ahokas misses with a hook
and Kersikov counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ahokas tries for a takedown but Kersikov sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Kersikov is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Nice sprawl there from Kersikov as Ahokas shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Juha Ahokas. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Ahokas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kersikov, who protects the arm well.

Ahokas goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Kersikov rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ahokas's guard! Nice work there by Kersikov!
Kersikov wants to control from the top but Ahokas keeps moving.
Kersikov must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kersikov stands up from Ahokas's guard - Kersikov perhaps looking for a knockout.

Ahokas looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kersikov!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ahokas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Kersikov's waist but Kersikov gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ahokas off to one side.

and Kersikov counters with a nice right hand that sends Ahokas toppling to the canvas! Ahokas scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Kersikov finish him?!

Kersikov is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

and Kersikov rattles Ahokas with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Ahokas tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Kersikov dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Ahokas stiff and motionless on the mat!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Boyka Kersikov!
A relieved looking Boyka Kersikov thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
