Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruno Miranda (ranked 2007 p4p, 2370 weight class) and William H Bonney (ranked 294 p4p, 338 weight class). William H Bonney is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bruno Miranda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, William H Bonney!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonney keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bonney looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Miranda throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Bonney counters with a crisp right hand that drops Miranda! Bonney lets Miranda back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Miranda is rocked!

It looks like Bruno Miranda has been cut.
Bonney on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Miranda just misses with a punch to the body.
Miranda uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bonney has time to react.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Miranda throws a hook to the side of Bonney's head but Bonney sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Bonney raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
The fighters circling - Miranda throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Miranda lands a glancing blow to the side of Bonney's head.

It seemed like Bonney was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Miranda shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Miranda showed some decent athleticism there.
Bonney is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Miranda continues to stall.

Miranda wants to control but Bonney is keeping him busy.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Miranda in particular looking to stall.
Bonney is refusing to be controlled, as Miranda sits in half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bonney can do anything to dispel that myth.

Miranda is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Miranda wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bonney keeps working.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Miranda in particular looking to stall.
Miranda is looking to advance position but Bonney won't allow it.

Miranda moves into full mount! Bonney won't be happy about that!
Miranda cracks Bonney with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Bonney really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Miranda. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Poor strikes thrown by Miranda there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Miranda throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bonney because Miranda loaded up on that one.
Miranda tries to control but Bonney wriggling away.

Miranda is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Bonney has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Bonney!
Bonney tries to stand but Miranda is controlling from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Miranda is on top in guard.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bonney ducks under a wild hook from Miranda.
Bonney throws out a counter right but Miranda avoids it with no problem.
Bonney bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bonney! But no joy.
Miranda is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Miranda shoots for a takedown but Bonney saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
A countering left hand to the body from Bonney misses.

Miranda closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Miranda lands in his opponent's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miranda is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Bonney is working an open guard so Miranda takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

William H Bonney is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Bonney let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bonney uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Miranda.

Miranda looks to throw a body kick
and Bonney counters with a powerful cross that connects right on the chin and the lights go out! A massive one punch knock out!

After winning the bout, William H Bonney thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
