Jones is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Hell Yeah. Dingleberry Jones has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Anthony Merel's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Merel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dingleberry Jones!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Merel jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A swing and a miss from Jones.
Nice body punch from Jones.
Merel misses with a hook.
Jones throws a body shot but no joy.
Jones misses with a looping right.
Merel seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Merel gets cracked there but stands up to it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Jones has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Merel has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Jones finds it's way round the side to connect with Merel's head.
Jones misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Merel.
Good shot there by Jones.
A big left from Merel misses.
Jones misses with a straight left.
Merel feinted with a counter takedown.
Merel blocks a jab.
Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Merel moves out of range easily.
Jones misses with a head kick.
Merel throws a hook but Jones blocks it.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Merel lands with an uppercut that bounces Jones off the cage and back into range.
Merel misses the jab.
The fighters circling - Jones throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Merel pushes him off.
Jones waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Merel.
A big left from Merel misses.
Merel avoids the head kick by Jones.
Merel uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jones.
Merel tests Jones's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Merel uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
A jab lands there for Merel.
Merel throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.
Merel lands a jab to Jones's midsection.
A big left from Merel misses.
Jones pivots, looking for a leg kick but Merel is out of range and Jones settles back down.
Dingleberry Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Merel swings for the body but Jones moves out of range.
Merel ducks under a wild hook from Jones.
Merel misses the shot to the body.
Jones jabs at Merel's body.
Merel jabs Jones to the body, keeping him at a distance.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Merel getting the better of the striking in that exchange.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Merel throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Merel is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Merel slips under a jab.
A telegraphed right hand from Jones misses the target.
Jones cracks Merel with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Jones throws a lazy uppercut

and Merel counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jones trying to control from the bottom.
Jones gets full guard.
Merel with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.

Merel is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Jones has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Merel is looking to defend but Jones has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Merel! Jones pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Merel taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Dingleberry Jones!
Dingleberry Jones decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
