PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Paladin Dragon (ranked 24438 p4p, 2391 weight class) and Blair Ewan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Blair Ewan told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, The Paladin Dragon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Blair Ewan!
The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ewan sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dragon somewhat.
Dragon fails with a takedown attempt.
Dragon misses with a double jab.
Ewan connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dragon's hands.

It looks like The Paladin Dragon has been cut.
Ewan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dragon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ewan tests Dragon's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Ewan forces Dragon back against the cage and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A short body shot lands from Ewan as the two fighters clinch.
Dragon is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Paladin Dragon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ewan lands a right hand that snaps the head of Dragon backwards.
Dragon pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.

Dragon is breathing heavily.
Ewan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dragon's efforts to push away.
Ewan scores with a nice hook to the head.

Ewan lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Ewan lands a left hand that snaps the head of Dragon backwards.

Ewan lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Ewan cracks Dragon with a nice body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ewan is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Dragon pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Oh Dragon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Ewan lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Dragon to his knees! Ewan keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
