The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Romanowski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Romanowski closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Romanowski gets control of Dants's arms and successfully pulls guard. Romanowski will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Dants drops back looking for a leg! Romanowski is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Romanowski manages to kick Dants off! Dants jumps back into Romanowski's guard.

Dants drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Romanowski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dants has Romanowski in his guard.
Dants throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Romanowski escapes and throws Dants's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Romanowski tries to stand but Dants is controlling his head.

Dants tries to buck Romanowski off but Romanowski is having none of it.

Dants is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Romanowski decides to return to a standing position.
Romanowski misses with a takedown attempt - Dants sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Romanowski connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Romanowski lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dants circles away quickly and effectively.
Dants shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Dants was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Dants with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

You get the feeling that Romanowski really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Romanowski really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dants. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dants is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Dants extends the arm and Romanowski is forced to tap!
