This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 26 wins and 11 losses; John Lee! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 14 wins and 10 losses; Marc Read!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Russell Pearce.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Read closes the distance and pushes Lee back into the cage.

Lee has hold of one of Read's legs. Read is fighting the takedown attempt but Lee gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Lee is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at SSJ Gym, so we'll see if he gets out of it.
Lee's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Read seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Lee does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Read wants to work for an arm triangle but Lee is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Lee is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Lee keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Read wants to lay and pray for a moment but Lee keeps working.
