This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 19 wins and 10 losses; Shaka Zulu! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, John Roberts and Lou da Vinci.
Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious? Zulu clinches up with Chunks and pushes him back against the cage. Chunks is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Zulu gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Chunks changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Zulu fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Zulu closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Zulu is working for takedown but Chunks is calmly controlling the position for now. Zulu has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Chunks is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Zulu turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Zulu manages to end up in side control. Zulu content just to control the position here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Chunks tries to hold on but Zulu postures up. Chunks is trying desperately to improve position. Zulu controlling the pace for now. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Zulu tries to land a sweep but no joy. Zulu seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. Chunks is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Chunks wants to control but Zulu is having none of it. Chunks is desperately trying to improve his position but Zulu has a good base and remains in mount. Chunks tries to lock up and control but Zulu gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Zulu tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Chunks regains half guard. Chunks wants to control but Zulu is keeping busy and won't allow it. That's eight minutes gone in the round. Zulu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Chunks doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Zulu. Zulu uses his free foot to push down on Chunks's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Chunks. Well, with Zulu on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Chunks is tapping out... Can he escape the position? You can see the frustration on Chunks's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Zulu is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
