Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Leef Ung! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Skarphedinsson is looking to score with low kicks. Skarphedinsson pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Snorri Skarphedinsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Skarphedinsson tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ung is able to avoid easily. Skarphedinsson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Skarphedinsson swinging wildly here.
Ung changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Skarphedinsson throws a big shot that misses. Ung shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Skarphedinsson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Ung is looking to work some ground and pound but Skarphedinsson has wrist control. That's one minute gone in the round. Ung throwing shots but Skarphedinsson is blocking nicely. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ung lands a nice short elbow. That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Ung displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Skarphedinsson throws out the jab. Skarphedinsson listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Skarphedinsson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ung moves away. Skarphedinsson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Ung lands a really nice looking cross but Skarphedinsson seems unphased.
Ung moves away from the strike by Skarphedinsson. Skarphedinsson throws a body kick despite being completely out of range and Ung counters with a takedown into side control. Skarphedinsson is breathing heavily. Ung lands some shots froms side control. Ung connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Skarphedinsson some visible discomfort.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Skarphedinsson is working to avoid the ground and pound but Ung connects with a decent elbow.
