This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; Disco Kid! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 4 losses; Rimtas Kentas!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Daniel Cesar and Felipe Paraventi.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Kentas shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kid is trying to defend but Kentas finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Kentas wants to work for an arm triangle but Kid is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kentas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Kentas is fighting to break Kid's control of his arms but Kid is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've been hearing good reports from Kid's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Kentas felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Kid has his foot on Kentas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kentas works his way back into a safe position though.

Kentas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kid is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kid has escaped and now he's on top!

Kid got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kentas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kid has managed to get both his arms back between Kentas's legs - danger averted.

Kentas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kid gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kentas working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kid doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kid manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Kentas is looking to sweep but instead, Kid has passed into half guard.

Kid is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kentas is just riding it out for now. Kid eventually gives up the hold.

Kid is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Kentas is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Kid tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kid has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Kentas is looking to regain half guard here but Kid keeps moving and retains side control.

Kid takes the fight on points by 13 to 6.
